10 RULES for Life-Long FITNESS :- . 1. Cut out processed sugar (dessert, table sugar) and processed items (chips, farsaan, maggi). They are the curse of our generation. When craving sweets, eat fruit. When craving snacks, eat nuts. 2. Protein MUST be the centrepiece of each meal. Chicken/fish/eggs/paneer/tofu/sprouts/protein-shakes have to be included every time you're eating a meal. Even "snacks" must contain a bit of protein. 3. You MUST starve your body for at least 12 hours of your day. Easiest way to apply the REVOLUTION called "intermittent fasting". Gives your ENTIRE system time to recover and heal. Say no to breakfasts ideally. If you can't, then eat at 7pm latest. 4. Movement – choose weights, yoga, dancing, sports, running, swimming or calisthenics. But ensure you MOVE your body at least 3-5 days of the week. 5. Water & vegetables are the constants of your life. Load the f*ck up. 6. Replace maida (bread, naan, cake) with whole wheat (rotis, rava, dalia). Replace white rice with unpolished rice (ideally brown). Ensure that you don't mix rice & wheat in the same meal (harsh on your system) 7. Last meal should be 2-3 hours before bedtime. Food digestion interferes with sleep & repair. Be serious about this & watch your life change. 8. Don't do it for the 6 pack or the thigh gap. Do it to HARDWIRE discipline into your mind. The process is way more important than the end result. . 9. It's very easy for college kids to be fit. It's very difficult for working professionals to be fit. Never brag about fitness if you're under 22. Only encourage! Never completely ignore fitness if you're over 22. Only prioritise. 10. Enjoy yourself as well. 3 cheat meals a week is good enough enjoyment. Work towards this level of discipline for the sake of the older version of you. Delete food delivery apps if need be. Always eat home cooked food for best results.

Day 9 of #SoulFulAcceptance is your current relationship with food. Questions you can ask yourself are: Am I being mindful when I’m eating? How are you feeling while you’re eating? Where you’re eating what thoughts are passing while y’all are eating? Are you one your phone or watching Netflix or driving or reading while you eat? Are you eating slowly? Are you chewing your food? Are you honouring you’re good? Are you using all your 6 senses? Are you skipping your meals or over eating? Are you scared of eating? Do you feel guilty when you eat? . . Y’all know this, I’ve had a horrible relationship with good but in time it got better. In time I learnt to be mindful and not scared of eating. Recently I turned vegetarian and this shook my whole system. From a person who would almost have NO vegetables to now someone who has to ONLY eats vegetables. (I eat grains and fruits and all also but you get the point) my system was like wtf and I was bored. Because I’m from a mallu Christian family where eating non veg is in our DNA, vegetables being cooked at home would be like pickle. And it wasn’t tasty at all. So you know what I did for a month? I would order 4 cheese pizza and margarita pizza and keep eating it everyday. On sundays twice. Because cheese I didn’t give up so I kept eating it. And also my system is used to cheese but NOT SO MUCH also. I started bloating and feeling very uncomfortable in my stomach. So I assumed I needed to eat lesser so I did then I started getting very bad gas and my belly was even more bloated. I went and got all test done almost everything was okay except vitamin D is less. And my cholesterol is a little high. It was 224 and supposed to be 200 and I was like wtf I’m the most “healthiest person” out there. How is this possible. I had to introspect and realise “shit I’ve been having CHEESE for lunch snacks and dinner everyday for a month and a half OF COURSE my cholesterol will go high. It is the saturated fat in cheese that is responsible for raising cholesterol levels. And here’s the thing THERE IS NO BAD FOOD, over eating (under eating) something is bad. You know what I did then? I started in cooperating VEGETABLES in everything. 👇🏾

When it comes to your health, always think long term. We tend to put in so much thought about the career we choose, the partner we want but when it comes to food we ignore the fact that “You are what you eat” . No matter how hectic last 3 days or as a matter of fact this whole year has been mentally and physically , just one decision that no matter what happens, I will stick to the food choices that feed my soul or else I am going to stick to plain water has helped me tremendously. I might have experienced muscle loss but my mind is getting sharper than ever. I can see where I am heading and what exactly the Universe is sending towards me . I am getting better at maintaining this lifestyle no matter where I am. Just few tweaks in time management and I’ll be ready to work on those gains again . #makesmartchoices #soulovergains
